To top off the look, the Houston-born, Dubai-raised illustrator wore a pair of dangling silver earrings made by New York City-based jeweler Eddie Borgo.
The earrings, called the ‘Long spike studs,’ are available for $175.
Six years ago, Borgo had moved to Los Angeles, but finally returned this past spring to his home in New York City.
Duwaji will officially become First Lady of New York City on January 1, 2026, as her husband succeeds current Mayor Eric Adams.

She and Mamdani met on Hinge, a dating app, when she was 24 years old and he was 29.
On an appearance on the Bulwark podcast, Mamdani urged people looking for love not to dismiss dating apps.
‘I met my wife on Hinge so there is still hope on those dating apps!’ he said.
The two announced their engagement in October last year and, on a chilly February day in New York earlier this year, said ‘I do’ at City Hall in Lower Manhattan.
