Disney visitors shocked over ‘ghost town’ parks as attendance plunges to all-time low for 2025
Walt Disney World appeared to have its quietest month of 2025 with shocked visitors sharing videos of near-empty parks.
According to crowd data, wait times for rides dropped to an average of just 26 minutes per ride for the month of September, marking its slowest month of crowds for the year so far.
It comes after the park saw extremely packed-out crowds during the summer months.
Social media users have been surprised to see Disney World so quiet in recent weeks and have shared videos showcasing the lack of buzz.
One TikTok user urged parkgoers to consider going to Disney World the week after the next Labor Day because of the lack of guests.
‘Disney world has super low crowds right now! This has been such an amazing week to visit the parks,’ she captioned her video.
In the clip, she shared a photograph that showed the wait times at Fantasyland, revealing a five-minute wait for ‘it’s a small world’ and ‘under the sea journey of the little mermaid.’
There was only a ten-minute queue for The Barnstormer, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

‘If you’re looking for a low crowd time of year to visit Disney World, I highly recommend the week AFTER Labor Day,’ she continued in the caption.
‘It corresponds with a lot of kids being back in school so the park is practically empty.’
Another user said: ‘I’ve never seen such an empty world showcase! We arrived for early entry, and we literally passed TWO PEOPLE between Mexico and Italy… and I think they were cast members!
‘Note to self – rope drop world showcase as a resort guest in September!’
Those deals included a $89-per-day three-park ticket that excluded Magic Kingdom, 50 percent off children’s tickets and the return of free dining for certain dates and packages, according to multiple Disney blogs.
The Daily Mail has contacted Disney Parks for comment.
Typically, after Labor Day and before the fall holidays is one of the best times to visit Disney World in terms of waiting times because children are back in school.
‘It’s always a great time to visit Disney theme parks!’ the company says on its website.

‘However, when planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, expect lower crowds from mid-September through mid-November (before the Thanksgiving break).
‘Mid-January through mid-March is another time when potentially lower crowds are expected. The parks are generally less busy during these 2 periods, which make it an ideal time to explore.’
Another reason for the quiet parks, however, might be down to the soaring costs once visitors get onsite.
Earlier this week, one father who took his family to Orlando’s Walt Disney World resort in July, showcased the ‘ridiculous’ prices of a range of items, from shoes to soft drinks to sparkly backpacks.
In a video posted to his page, accompanied by the caption ‘Disney’s prices get worse the deeper you go’, the man first pointed his camera at a sign displaying two thirst-quenching drinks.
One of the beverages, a Blueberry Vodka Lemonade, was priced at $15.50 while a Canadian Apply Slushy totaled $16.50.
Walking into a gift shop, he stumbled across a pair of Haunted Mansion Crocs priced at $64.99, a pair of mini kids’ Lilo and Stitch Crocs for $54.99 and a pink Disney World pajama set coming in at $84.99.
