Sick trolls attack Selma Blair after she hailed Charlie Kirk as an ‘incredible man’ in the wake of his death

Selma Blair is under attack after sharing her support for conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his death.

The 53-year-old actress appeared to have left a comment on one of Kirk’s posts after he was shot and killed last week, according to screenshots circulating online.

‘This incredible man. Who would go into the cauldron of indoctrination. And use logic to have dialogue. I am sick for his family. For all of us,’ she wrote in a comment on his Instagram, per Reddit.

Kirk was shot dead at the age of 31 at Utah Valley University last Wednesday. Accused gunman Tyler Robinson, 22, is in custody in Utah for the alleged shooting after surrendering to police. 

Followers were quick to notice the tribute before Blair was forced to turn off comments on her social media accounts amid fierce backlash.

‘Whooooaaaa, I’ve never seen this comment before. Holy s**t. Man, this bums me out,’ one disappointed user wrote after screenshots were shared. ‘I’d say we should know less about each other, but I guess I’m glad I know this is the kind of person she really is.’

‘I kind of miss the days before social media when celebrities didn’t share every thought that entered their head,’ added another.

Someone else wrote: ‘Oh nooooooo I used to like her! Damn.’

‘Selma’s been making super disappointing comments for a while so this tracks. I admired her being so public about her MS as someone who also has it, but I no longer respect her since she’s been out and proud supporting bigots and politicians that wish nothing but harm to disabled and/or chronically ill people like us,’ raged another. 

However, some didn’t see an issue with her comments.

‘Who cares,’ one fan responded. ‘It’s OK to disagree with and have different ideologies from others and NOT cancel them/still enjoy their movies.’

It’s not the first time the Legally Blonde star – who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 – has received backlash after sharing her political thoughts on social media.

In a now-delated post shared last year, the Cruel Intentions actress called for the deportation of Democratic representatives Cori Bush and Rashida Tlaib, who is Muslim herself, referring to them as ‘terrorist-supporting goons.’

The since-deleted comment read: ‘Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.’

She was then blasted by a disability advocate over her ‘hateful’ Islamophobic post – who claimed the actress hung up the phone when she tried to confront her about it.

Maria Town, who is President and CEO of the American Association of People with Disabilities, took to Instagram to share her scathing comments.

She said that she had clashed with the star in a conversation that ‘did not go well’ despite having worked together previously. 

Blair then issued an apology for leaving an Islamophobic comment on social media, claiming she ‘inadvertently conflated Muslims with fundamentalists.’

On Monday morning, it was reported that Kirk’s alleged assassin Robinson wrote a note saying he was going to ‘take out’ the conservative commentator before he shot him dead.

According to FBI director Kash Patel, the suspect said: ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.’

‘The note was written before the shooting, it was in the suspect’s partner’s home,’ Patel said.

‘We have since learned the note – even though it was destroyed – we have found forensic evidence of the note and we have confirmed what the note said because our aggressive interview posture at the FBI.’

Patel did not clarify whether the note was handwritten or digital, or how it was recovered.

Robinson, 22, was taken into custody on Friday in connection with the assassination.
