Benny Blanco has been ruthlessly trolled online over the caption of his first post with wife Selena Gomez following their star-studded wedding on Saturday.

The singer, 33, and the producer, 37, tied the knot in Santa Barbara with a lavish celebration attended by 170 family and friends, including Selena’s longtime pal Taylor Swift, her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, as well as Paul Rudd and Ed Sheeran.

Afterwards, Benny took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse into their newlywed life, sharing a series of intimate snaps from their wedding weekend.

He posted a carousel of photos with a heartwarming caption declaring he ‘married a real life Disney princess.’ 

But some social media users were quick to use the caption to make cruel jokes about Benny.

On X, formerly Twitter, some users wrote that Selena was the princess Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and that Benny was The Beast, while others compared them to Shrek the Ogre and Fiona the princess.

‘Him being The Beast is wild,’ one user penned.

‘This is the Shrek movie in real life,’ said someone else.

‘And he’s the beast lol,’ read a fourth post, while a fifth said, ‘She married a real life Disney beast.’

Others, however, shared messages of support for the couple.

‘The caption makes them so much CUTER, I would fall so HARD for someone that CALLS ME a Disney princess,’ gushed one user.

‘He’s obsessed with her and that’s all that matters,’ wrote another. 

‘That is the sweetest thing ever,’ said someone else.

‘This is the cutest, Benny more points,’ read another tweet.

‘She got her happy ending and I’m so excited for herm’ a different person commented.

Another shot included the couple relaxing on a sofa together as the Bad Liar songstress showed off her lace wedding gown while Benny snapped the photo in a mirror. 

A third image showed a close-up of their hands clasped together, revealing her dazzling diamond engagement ring alongside his gold wedding band and stacked diamond bracelets. 

Selena quickly jumped into the comments to gush over her new husband, writing: ‘I love you soooo much!’ 

Paris Hilton also joined in, telling the couple: ‘What a beautiful evening celebrating your wedding! I love you both and so happy for you.’

She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. platinum-and-diamond earrings.

The newlyweds first confirmed their romance in December 2023, though their professional partnership stretches back nearly a decade, with Benny producing several of Selena’s biggest hits. 

They announced their engagement in December 2024 and have since collaborated on new music, including their joint album I Said I Love You First.
