Nicole Kidman opens up about ‘taking risks’ as she discusses her mistakes amid Keith Urban divorce
Nicole Kidman is opening up ‘taking risks’ and the mistakes she has made in a new interview with with Vogue published Wednesday – in the midst of a divorce from longtime husband Keith Urban.
‘Taking a risk is what I’ve always done,’ she shared. ‘You get back up and you try again and you learn.’
The 58-year-old has been thrust into the spotlight following news of her split from her musician spouse but insisted that online scrutiny does not bother her.
‘Literally walk away from it because it will fell you. It will destroy you,’ Kidman candidly shared.
Kidman did not address the divorce directly during her interview but was instead ‘wry, rueful, unsure of herself’ when asked about how she felt now in her 50s.
‘How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?’ she quizzed, before stressing the importance of ‘ride-or-die friendships.’
She concluded: ‘So much to say and so little time to say it. About death and life and joy and grief and loss and sex and why we’re here and what is truth and is truth even necessary.’
Of course, she also touched on the steamier roles that she’s had throughout her career, explaining that she doesn’t know why she was so often attracted to these kind of characters.
